Summary
  • Little women: Story about the March family of four daughters and a strong mother who, because her husband is away serving in the Army during the Civil War, must raise her "little women" on her own. The daughters include: spirited Jo who longs for a career as a writer; beautiful and conservative older sister Meg; fragile Beth; and the romantic Amy. Through the years, as they become women, the sisters share their most cherished and painful moments of self-discovery as their mother's pride and strength guide them through questions of independence, romance and virtue
  • Pride and prejudice: Elizabeth Bennet is one of five sisters hoping for matrimony. Darcy is a wealthy gentleman, and his arrival at a nearby estate sets maiden hearts aflutter. But first impressions can mean so very much. Elizabeth and Darcy find reasons to view each other with disdain, setting in motion a struggle of pride and prejudice, perception and reality, forgiveness and love
  • Madame Bovary: Emma Bovary is a woman possessed by a burning hunger for life and love--and a passion that can never be fulfilled. Feeling trapped in a loveless marriage, Emma indulges herself in a lifestyle of reckless overspending and a series of shocking affairs which threaten to destroy her and everyone around her
  • Anna Karenina: Discover the epic saga of love, marriage, heartbreak, and tragedy among the 19th-century aristocracy in Anna Karenina. Young, vivacious, and breathtakingly beautiful, Anna seems resigned to a passionless marriage of convenience. But when she meets the dashing soldier, Count Vronsky, she risks scandal and ruin to pursue true love. Experience the unbridled passion and of Anna's star-crossed affair and its far-reaching effects on her family, friends, and social order
